TOOL DESIGN / MANUFACTURE / MAINTENANCE

Advanced CAD/CAM Software for Design and Simulation, Rich experience of 2 decades of having handled a wide variety of Components, latest CNC Machining Techniques and ample amount of common sense are some of the important ingredients that going into our Design and Manufacture of the Tooling.
The outcome are Tools that ensures Maximum Productivity, Minimum Rejects, Minimum Secondary Operations, Extended Tool Life and Ease of Maintenance throughout the life of the Tool.
A well established and documented Tooling Maintenance Procedure ensures that the Tools stay as good as new, shot after shot.
A Comprehensive Tooling Replacement plan reviewed every quarter ensures that Tools are replaced well in advance, avoiding serious Production and Quality related issues.

MELTING

High efficiency tower melters are used for melting Aluminium Ingots. Degassing & filtration are performed to ensure the best quality Molten Aluminium is delivered to the Die Casting machines. Further quality check like K-Mould and dissolved gas content are also done before transfer of Metal.

CASTING THROUGH HPDC / GDC

A Total of 31 nos. of a wide range of Die Casting machines (17 HPDC Machines in Tumkur Unit 1 and 14 HPDC, 3 GDC Machines in Ranipet Unit 2) gives Chamundi very good flexibility in being capable to manufacture a comprehensive assortment of parts.
Capacity to produce castings in the weight range of approx.. 20 grams to 6.0 kilograms.
Installed Capacity is approx.. 15,000 Tons of Castings per annum (6,000 Tons @ Unit1 & 9,000 Tons @ Unit 2)
Present production is around approx.. 9,000 Tons per annum (Approx. 4000 Tons @ Unit 1 & 5000 Tons @ Unit 2)
Various Casting technologies like Vacuum, Squeeze Pin, Mould temperature Control, Jet Cooling, etc are used extensively in the Casting Production Process.

CNC MACHINING

Our in house CNC Machining facility gives Chamundi the advantage of being a “One Stop Shop” for Customers.

The CNC Machining section is equipped with a battery of 218+ CNC machines, consisting of a wide variety of machines including VMC’s / Turning Centers / TMC’s / Twin Spindle Turning Centers and VMC’s, enabling Chamundi to supply fully Finished Machined Components to its customers. All VMC's are equipped with 4th axis machining capability. Some VMC’s are also equipped with 5^th axis machining capability.

POWDER COATING

Fully automated, 7 stage pre-treatment plant coupled to a conveyorised Powder Coating plant, with multiple coating booths give Chamundi Die Cast (P) Ltd., the ability to coat multiple colors with high volume quantities.

SUB ASSEMBLIES

Simple, Sub Assembly Operations, like Rubber Bush and Sleeve fitting, Steel ball pressing, dowel pin, etc. are also undertaken in order to supply customers with Direct On Line Products making Chamundi Die Cast a First Choice Supplier for many a customer.
